Here's some good news from Patty Atkins at Providence Seaside Hospital: "Teachers need a lot more things than when we were in school! In October, our mission committee gathered school supplies to fill wish lists for teachers at Broadway Middle School, Seaside Heights Elementary School, Gearhart and Cannon Beach schools.

"In addition to almost $500 in cash (used to buy additional supplies), our employees donated a large list of items, including: digital cameras, video recorder, digital video camera, color printers, waterproof binoculars, CD and MP-3 players, flash memory drives, calculators, spell checkers, educational games and wild bird seed."

Atkins added that "some of the more traditional items, including boxes of pencils, paper, spiral notebooks, markers, scissors and dictionaries" were also donated.
