SALEM - Jon Englund of Astoria and two other appointees won easy confirmation to seats on the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission by the Oregon Senate Thursday.

Englund, Portland attorney Ken Klarquist and Oregon State University professor Dan Edge were nominated for the seven-member panel by Gov. Ted Kulongoski.

Englund's nomination drew opposition from some conservationists, who told a Senate panel Wednesday that the owner of Englund Marine Supply could have a potential conflict of interest. The panel approved all three nominees.

Englund serves on a number of other state panels, including the Oregon International Trade Commission, Oregon Community Foundation and Ocean Policy Advisory Council.
