Siegel said, "Last year, Hayward Field provided a back drop for our Olympic team, which went on to dominate the Olympics in a way that was the best performance in a generation, and we believe that bringing the trials back to Track Town will prepare the team for an equally impressive performance in Rio."

The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro.

This will be the sixth time Eugene has played host to the Olympic track trials. U.S. athletes compete at the trials for a spot on Team USA.
