Evelyn Wanda Larsen, 84, of Astoria, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 in Astoria.

Mrs. Larsen was born Dec. 28, 1920 in Chinook, Wash., to Stewart and Callie Oller Church, and was a descendent of the Daniel Boone family that came to America from England in 1643. She was raised in Chinook. During her early years, she worked as an usherette at the Liberty Theatre in Astoria.

She married Sydney W. Larsen March 17, 1941 in Astoria. He preceded her in death June 8, 1972.

A homemaker, Mrs. Larsen made Astoria her home for most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church and was a former member of the Clatskanie Grange and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Family members said she enjoyed needlework, loved her family and was always there to help. For 17 years, she took care of her elderly mother-in-law.

Mrs. Larsen is survived by two daughters, Sonja Yanagawa of Astoria and Inez Wall of Raymond, Wash.; one son, Frank Larsen of Canby; one sister, Geraldine Comstock of St. Helens; one brother, Joe Church of Walla Walla, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
