Custom Threads, at 1282 Commercial St., Astoria, has expanded its business. Fabric is back. Cleo Rekart and Jacqueline Holland have added fabric, machine threads, books and quilt patterns to owner Eda Lindstrom's extensive yarn, knit and crochet patterns. The store features Hoffman batiks, luscious brights, Asian prints and art quilt fabrics.

Alterations and Elna and BabyLock machines are available, as well as classes in quilting, knitting and crocheting.

Custom Threads will hold a grand opening sale to celebrate the expansion from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The sale includes 30 percent off flat folds, 20 percent off bolts and a drawing for fabric.
