The Clatsop County Fairground is honoring all events currently scheduled at the facility. However, the fairground is accepting no new reservations until sometime after Jan. 1.

The fairground is operating on a reduced schedule after a funding shortfall forced the Fair Board to lay off its employees. The county is working with the Fair Board to help operate the facility and develop a long-term business plan for financial stability.

Organizers and participants for 4-H events that have been scheduled at the fairgrounds should contact Sandra Carlson at the Clatsop County Extension Service office at 325-8573.

Fair Board Chairman Mike Scholerman is fielding questions about the 2005 Fair at 861-3139.

For other questions, including those about 4-H events not already on the calendar, call the fairgrounds at 325-4600 and leave a message. Messages are checked daily Monday through Friday.
