The Festival of Eugene just can't keep still.

Organizers late Thursday announced that the Aug. 22-23 festival -- intended as an impromptu substitute for the cancelled Eugene Celebration -- has moved yet again. The new locale: Skinner Butte Park.

Initially, the festival was to be held downtown on a block bound by Oak and Pearl streets between Fifth and Sixth avenues. When some property owners objected, the venue was changed earlier this week to Alton Baker Park.

But organizer Krysta Albert said in a statement Thursday that the city rescinded the possibility of using Alton Baker Park when it realized that all parking spots there will be needed for another event planned for the adjacent Cuthbert Amphitheatre on the evening of Aug. 23.

Albert said organizers then settled on Skinner Butte Park, and have submitted a site application, completed insurance policy and traffic planning information to the city.

"The Festival of Eugene is the festival that just won't die!" Albert said in her statement. "Skinner Butte Park or bust!"
