SEASIDE - The Northcoast Lupus and Fibromyalgia Support group will host a seminar, "Fibromyalgia in Focus," from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the North Coast Family Fellowship, 2245 N. Wahanna Road in Seaside. There is no cost for the event.

The seminar coincides with National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, an annual date to support sufferers, to increase awareness and to expand knowledge about the challenges of the disease through education, diagnosis, research and treatment.

Speakers Cheryl Hryciw, a family nurse practitioner, Social Security attorney Joseph Dibartolomeo and Vicki McAffee, a licensed nutritionist and clinical herbalist, will share their knowledge of some technical aspects of the disease. A question-and-answer session will follow their presentations.

The afternoon will include light refreshments and a film, "Living with Fibromyalgia." The animal shelter has been invited to bring adoptable dogs to encourage people to get out of the house for exercise.

All sufferers of fibromyalgia and/or lupus and their supporters are encouraged to attend the regular Northcoast Lupus and Fibromyalgia Support Group meetings in the Education Center of Providence Seaside Hospital at 2:30 p.m. on the third Mondays of each month, September through June.

For information, call Jeanne Nordmark at 738-7928 or Carol Wamsher at 458-6709.
