There were new fires added to Oregon's list of fires to watch Friday -- the Pine Creek Complex wildfires south of Fossil, which sparked up on July 14 and have grown to 39,000 acres.

Gov. John Kitzhaber declared a state of emergency this week, and areas of Central and Southern Oregon are experiencing poor air quality due to smoke.

The Buzzard Complex wildfires reached 272,352 as of Friday morning and is 20 percent contained. Highway 78 is open, but roads may close due to smoke. It's recommended to drive cautiously through the area with your lights on.

The Shaniko Butte wildfire on the Warm Spring Indian Reservation is at 25,000 acres and is 10 percent contained. S-300/Highway 3 Junction and Red Lake Cemetery Road are closed. The Oregon National Guard will be assisting in firefighting efforts starting Saturday.

The Pittsburg wildfire north of Pittsburg Landing on the Idaho side of the border reached 8,000 acres and is 15 percent contained.

The Waterman Complex near Mitchell now covers 6,020 acres and is 35 percent contained.

The Moccasin Hill wildfire in Southern Oregon reached 2,535 acres and is 55 percent contained. Crews hope to fully contain the fire by Saturday.

The Gumboot wildfire north of Riley was at 1,600 acres and 55 percent contained as of Thursday night.

Information on the White River wildfire hasn't been updated since Thursday afternoon, but information says the fire was 652 acres and 80 percent contained.

The Sunflower wildfire in Umatilla Nation Forest is 5 percent contained and at 2,000 acres.

The Bridge 99 Complex east of Camp Sherman was 3,900 acres as of Thursday night and 5 percent contained.

The Bingham Complex by Detroit is 5 percent contained at 476 acres and should be contained by July 24.
