The National Weather Service says a flood watch is in effect from 8 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday evening for portions of Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Periods of heavy rain, along with some snowmelt, will cause sharp rises on several rivers and creeks draining the Coast Range and Willapa Hills.

Some rivers may approach or exceed flood stage.

They include the Grays River in Wahkiakum County and the Lower Nehalem and Wilson rivers in Tillamook County.

Landslides and debris flows are possible. Canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides.
