The Clatsop State Forest Recreation Advisory Committee will meet Tuesday at the Oregon Department of Forestry's Astoria District Office to finalize discussions on motorized and non-motorized recreation activity zones within ODF's Astoria basin.

The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The office is at 92219 Oregon Highway 202. The public is invited to attend the meeting. There will be an opportunity for the public comments.

The committee also will discuss user surveys being taken at Lost Lake in southern Clatsop County.

Planning has been under way for several months to designate motorized and non-motorized recreation activity zones within the Astoria basin. The 4,400-acre basin is immediately southeast of the city of Astoria.

The 11-member recreation advisory committee represents diverse interests. Committee membership includes recreation users from motorized and non-motorized groups.

The committee was formed to provide a forum for recreation users to have input on recreation management plans in the Clatsop State Forest.
