A community forum Sunday to discuss the possible impacts of Measure 30 has been canceled, Astoria School District Superintendent Mike Sowder announced Wednesday.

Forum organizers made the decision after receiving negative feedback about the intent of the event.

"We don't want people to think that we're trying to influence their vote," Sowder said. "It was an attempt to give information, not a campaign effort."

The forum was to include a discussion about the budgetary implications of Measure 30 on schools, health care and public safety.
