The Franklin Avenue Bridge Construction Project remains on schedule for the period April 15 through May 1. Bridge demolition continues on the south side of the existing structure. The concrete deck and stringers are now removed and the contractor is removing the remaining components of the south half.

The "pigeon steps" adjacent to the new abutment on the east end of the structure will be removed and stored. During the week of April 19, there will be drilling for soldier piles and shafts at Bent 3. In the following weeks, the contractor will continue to work on drilled shafts, following with forming, rebar and pouring the bridge abutments. This work will extend well into May.

Temporary signs designed to direct the public to the project website, (www.franklin-bridge.org), have been installed on 38th Street and Franklin Avenue.
