Knappa - If you're a hunter, fisher or simply enjoy being outdoors, a strong knowledge of a GPS can be invaluable. The Clatsop County Sheriff's Office will offer a free navigational skills mini-class Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Knappa Fire Station.

This safety class will provide skills and knowledge that could help lost person to find the way out to safety. A certified instructor from REI will teach the class.

Class size is limited, so call the sheriff's Columbia River Valley Substation at 458-7054 to reserve a seat. Participants should bring their own GPS units, if available.
