A fund has been established at Wells Fargo bank for Seaside native Dustin Rhodes, 25, a woodland firefighter who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in eastern Oregon on July 6.

Rhodes was returning home after helping fight a wildfire in eastern Oregon and central Idaho when a deer jumped in front of him on Oregon Highway 203. Knocked unconscious, he found himself in a ditch next to the road.

After crawling up toward the road, Rhodes was able to text message a friend to ask for help.

The accident left him with a broken leg, a shattered pelvis and two broken arms.

He was airlifted to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, where he has undergone several surgeries.

Rhodes does not have health insurance. Donations can be made at any branch of Wells Fargo. All donations will go toward medical expenses.
