GEARHART - The city of Gearhart needs a new city councilor.

The City Council will appoint a councilor to serve the last two years of John Pincetich's term. Pincetich resigned July 10.

Anyone interested is invited to go to City Hall at 698 Pacific Way, write a short piece on their reasons for wanting to be a councilor and submit their name. To be eligible, people must have lived within the city limits of Gearhart for one year.

Gearhart Councilors Chuck Schluter and Dianne Widdop's terms will expire this year. The public can pick up filing packets at City Hall. The election will be in November.
