Governor John Kitzhaber has ordered all flags at public buildings to be flown at half-staff Wednesday to honor the Oregon firefighter killed along with 18 other members of a hotshot fire crew in Arizona.

John Percin, Jr., was a graduate of West Linn High School. In a statement, Kitzhaber said, "My thoughts are with his family and friends, and I urge all Oregonians to take a moment to remember John, his bravery, and his noble sacrifice."

All but one of the 20-member firefighting team called the Granite Mountain Hotshots died Sunday.

They were fighting a blaze about 35 miles southwest of Prescott, Arizona.
