The Ear has heard that the Happy Stitchers, who meet weekly to make quilts, knit and crochet, celebrated their 25th anniversary Sept. 27 at the Astoria Golf & Country Club.

On hand to enjoy the celebration were the current members: NANCY ALLEN and FLORA CHAN, the group founders, and PAT CHRISTENSEN, ELLEN ENDICOTT, DOROTHY MEECE, TERRY PELLISSIER, GINGER STEVE, NORENE TIMMERMAN and MARCI von HUSEN.

Timmerman said the ladies each work on their own projects at the weekly meetings, and that several members do quilting, both by hand and by machine.

Recently, the Happy Stitchers attended Chan's 90th birthday party, also at the Astoria Golf & Country Club.
