Hayden Patrick Carleton, 15, a resident of the Rock Creek community died Saturday evening, August 6, 2011 at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland.

A celebration of his life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the New Life Baptist Church, 3440 E Main Street in Hillsboro. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at the church from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 12t, 2011.

Family and friends are invited to attend a light social to be held in the Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the services.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Mountainview Memorial Gardens, 499 Watercrest Drive in Forest Grove.

Hayden was born on December 15, 1995 in Ketchikan, Alaska. He moved to Oregon as a toddler and began grade school at Dilley Elementary in Forest Grove. He later moved into Harvey Clark and Tom McCall Middle School in Forest Grove, Or. Hayden attended seventh grade at Evergreen Junior High and eighth grade at Pointer Middle School in Hillsboro, Or. His freshman year was at Liberty High School in Hillsboro where he was also planning to attend his sophomore year.

Hayden's ultimate passion was playing football. His nickname "The Beast" was a good moniker for the way he played his positions on the defensive and offensive lines. He also enjoyed snowboarding, skate boarding, cooking with his mom and being outdoors especially camping. He was a thoughtful, resilient and loving young man who was especially close with his mother, Anne. Hayden was a car enthusiast and had built many scale model cars while his mom and Clyde (his dog) watched.

Hayden is survived by his mother, Anne Carleton of Rock Creek, Oregon. His grandparents; Bob and Doreen Caldwell of Yuma, AZ. His Aunts; Jan VanBlarcom of Forest Grove, Or, Kim Sexton of Anchorage, Alaska, Uncles; Jeff Caldwell of Milwaukie, Or, Ken Caldwell of Prineville, Or, Doug Caldwell of Warrenton, Or. Cousins; Cierra, Cameron, Candace and Max all residing in Oregon. Along with several relatives and step siblings in Alaska.

He is preceded in death by his Grandfather; Larry Carleton and a cousin; Colton VanBlarcom.
