SEASIDE - This vacant lot next to the new Helping Hands Thrift Store on Highway 101 south of Seaside will be the location of a community swap meet beginning Memorial Day weekend and running through Labor Day weekend.

The swap meet will run seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lots can be rented for $25 a day.The money raised will be used to support the Helping Hands projects.

The nonprofit organization focuses on facilitating re-entry into the mainstream for homeless people and ex-offenders.

"Our goal is to help these people overcome the obstacles they face in life," said Alan Evans, Helping Hands executive director.
