Annual recreation center calendar will portray exercising next yearSEASIDE - The Sunset Ladies in Seaside are making a new calendar, and they're doing something shocking. Something daring. Something almost unbelievable.
They'll be wearing clothes!
The third calendar to benefit the Sunset Parks and Recreation Department will be the first with a significant amount of cloth between the photographed and the camera.
"It's going to be jam-packed with coupons from businesses that offer great stuff that keeps you active," General Manager Mary Blake said. "People refer to it four times a day and it carries messages that we want to have go out there."
So if you buy one of these calendars-of-the-clothed, watch out for subversive influences to exercise and eat right. If you're not careful, you might actually find yourself enjoying life more, which is Blake's not-so-secret mission.
"Caught in the Act of Active Living" will portray the non-nude doing something really outrageous for a calendar produced by the recreation center: exercising.
The public is also welcome to send photos of hiking, biking, swimming and other bizarre physical activities to P.O. Box 514 or drop them off at the pool at 1140 Broadway in Seaside. The calendar, which will cost $20, will benefit after-school programs.
"It's not going to be something that will raise eyebrows," Blake said.
