Both two-legged and four-legged models strutted their stuff on the runway to showcase fashions from local boutiques and designers for Boutiques Unleashed, an event at the DoveAdore fundraiser for DoveLewis, which operates 24-hour, nonprofit, emergency and ICU hospitals for animals in the Northwest.
Among the animal fashion show stars were dogs, a cat, a llama and this year's mystery model, a 6-month-old Nigerian dwarf goat named Azazyel.
"He is a very gentle pet goat. He was a bottle-raised goat so he is very bonded to people and follows you around," said Dr. Lee Herold, chief medical officer of Dove Lewis and Azazyel's owner, who walked with her on the runway. Fashion designer Seth Aaron Henderson, the winner of Lifetime's Project Runway, designed Azazyel's outfit.
Funds raised from DoveAdore will support DoveLewis' community programs including pet loss support, stray and wildlife care programs, and medical care for patients and clients who have financial needs.
