Several members of the U.S. Coast Guard recently moved up the ranks on the USCG Cutter Steadfast.

On May 1, Michael Bailey was promoted from Storekeeper 3rd Class to 2nd Class, Jeff Latham advanced from Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class to 2nd Class, and Steadfast "jack of the dust" Derek Wenzel was promoted from Food Service Specialist 3rd Class to 2nd Class.

The 210-foot medium endurance cutter Steadfast is one of three Coast Guard ships based in Astoria, and one of just three Reliance Class cutters on the West Coast. The ship is home-ported at the 17th Street Pier next to the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
