Sixteen Tongue Point Job Corps CENTER students from the Health Occupations program celebrated National Youth Service Day with the residents of Clatsop Care Center. The 2-hour event included a number of different activities put on by the students. Several of the female residents enjoyed manicures, hand massages and makeovers, while others played games or participated in arts and crafts. Students, staff and residents later gathered together for a social hour. Clatsop Care provided the ice cream sodas and the students entertained, singing Karaoke tunes and reciting poetry.

Jackie Silk, TPJCC health occupations instructor, couldn't have been happier with the experience. "I think the trip to Clatsop Care succeeded in helping our students discover the joy of service and the satisfaction of knowing that they can make a difference in the life of another."
