Since most North Coasters are interested in all things Coast Guard, here’s a tip: Check out the COAST GUARD CHANNEL ONLINE,

The website is chock full of videos to watch. For history buffs, there’s the series, “Coast Guard Moments,” short capsules of long ago rescues at sea; the series “Medical Emergencies at Sea” is self-explanatory; for pet lovers, there’s “Who’s Your Doggie,” about various Coast Guard station mascots; for tall ship fans, the documentary “On the Wings of Eagle,” about cadet training on the Coast Guard barque Eagle; and, of course, “Best of CGTV,” segments from the TV show. And that only scratches the surface of what’s available to watch.

Don’t forget to click on “Features” on the left hand menu. Those mini-documentaries should come with a warning label. They’re addictive. Enjoy!
