Joan Frances Jacer, 97, of Beaverton, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, in Tualatin.
Mrs. Jacer was born Aug. 20, 1908 in Aberdeen, Wash. She attended Aberdeen schools.
After her schooling, she worked in a factory, and on Dec. 21, 1928, she married John Jacer in Aberdeen. He died in 1982.
They had lived in Centralia, Wash., Montesano, Wash., and Canada before moving to Astoria in 1956. She resided in Astoria until 1994, when she moved to an assisted living center in Beaverton.
Mrs. Jacer was active in home extension and was the district director for many years. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing, needlework and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elsie and Jim Whitney of Beaverton; two granddaughters, Linda Whitney of Beaverton and Kathy Lucas of Svensen; one grandson, Don Heino of Woodenville, Wash.; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Heino in 1983.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
