Coast Community Radio, KMUN Astoria 91.9 and KTCB Tillamook 89.5, will air a three-part BBC special, “The Iraq War” at 3 p.m. Thursday this week and Sept. 26 and Oct. 3.

The special tells the inside story of a decade of conflict, starting with the build-up of the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, the failures of the postwar occupation and the ensuing civil war.

It features testimony from Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Paul Wolfowitz, Tony Blair and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

KMUN Program Director Elizabeth Menetrey decided to air the series, she said, “because as the civil war in Syria deepens, the debate surrounding international intervention makes this series especially timely.”
