Lewis and Clark National Historical Park announces the 2005-06 "In Their Footsteps: Most Pleasing Prospects" free speakers series. The first program in this monthly series is "Animals Encountered by Lewis and Clark," by Dave Shea, scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday artFort Clatsop.

This hour-long audiovisual presentation will follow the Corps of Discovery's voyage from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean and its return. Viewers will learn about birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish encountered by the Lewis and Clark expedition. These range from hummingbirds to California condors and from shrews to woolly mammoths.
