Emily Smith, a real estate broker at Pete Anderson Realty in Astoria, was recently asked to speak during the national convention of the Certified Residential Specialists in San Francisco.

Smith attended the CRS "Sellabration" convention the first week of February, speaking during two break out sessions regarding short sales, foreclosures and real estate owned properties. She spoke about her short sale experiences and the emotional impact it can have on Realtors and their clients who are losing their homes. She also helped the CRS associates understand the lengthy process involved in short sales.

A real estate broker since 2004, Smith recently served as the 2008 president of the Clatsop Association of Realtors. She is actively involved with a number of other boards that serve the community, as has been appointed the area's Oregon CRS coordinator.
