CANNON BEACH - "Understanding 'The Da Vinci Code,'" a six-week course exploring issues and themes from Dan Brown's bestselling novel, begins at 7 p.m. June 7.

The free course, sponsored by Community Presbyterian Church, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in June and July at 132 E. Washington St. in Cannon Beach.

Classes will be taught by David Robinson, pastor of Community Presbyterian. Robinson received his bachelor of arts degree in world religions from University of Washington and his master of divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

In a separate program, Bethany Free Lutheran Church of Astoria will have the conclusion of the discussion series on "The Da Vinci Code" book and movie at 6 p.m. Sunday. Bethany is located across from the Astoria Safeway at 451 34th St. For more information, call 325-2925.
