Joyce Aho, manager of the Astoria office of the Oregon Employment Department, received the James Mahoney Management Performance Award from the Oregon chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals and the Employment Department.

The award recognizes outstanding performance by a manager employed in workforce development. Aho was cited for her conscientious service to the local community and her success in establishing and maintaining partnerships. She was honored for providing outstanding leadership as an integral partner in the Groundfish Disaster Outreach Program. Aho manages the Astoria and St. Helens offices.

The International Association of Workforce Professionals is a nonprofit worldwide professional training organization. Its members are professionals employed in public and non-profit programs that provide employment services, unemployment insurance, labor market information, job training and a variety of services related to the workforce needs of citizens, businesses and organizations.
