WARRENTON - At the 2003 Annual Professional Photographers of Oregon Convention in Portland recently, local Master Certified Professional Photographer Lisa Lamping was awarded the Fuji Masterpiece award for excellence in photography.

Each year, photographers from all over Oregon participate in competition with images they have submitted to be judged by a panel of jurors.

This photo by Warrenton's Lisa Lamping garnered the attention of judges.

Lamping'simage, "Can You Hear It?" featuring Astoria High School senior Chris Ambiel, was awarded the Fuji award and was the second highest scoring print in the competition and was selected for the "Court of Honor."

The Court of Honor represents the top 20 photographers in the state competition and Lamping has been featured in this court for the last 10 years consecutively.

Lamping was appointed as the second vice president to the association and is expected to be appointed president of the association in 2005.
