SEASIDE — An Ace Hardware store will open Monday in the former Holladay Drugs and Variety Store at 39 S. Holladay Drive.

Store hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The 8,000-square-foot store will carry paint, lawn and garden equipment, hardware, electrical and plumbing supplies, automotive tools and home décor, as well as niche products such as Carhartt apparel, Craftsman tools, and Clark + Kensington and Benjamin Moore premium paints.

It is designed to reflect the needs of Seaside and other South County communities, said Win Muffett, owner of the Seaside Ace.

“Our mission is to provide customers with convenience combined with superior service through one-on-one expert advice and assistance,” Muffett said. “We look forward to becoming a helpful and valuable neighbor to the community, both inside and outside the walls of our store.”

Seaside Mayor Don Larson will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Friday, March 30. Refreshments, giveaways and prize drawings also are planned. Coffee, donuts and free items will be available for the first customers on Saturday and Sunday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 25-cent hotdogs and free soda will be offered.

More specials will be included in a Daily Astorian/Coast Marketplace ad on March 13.
