Astoria was well represented at the Oregon Main Street Evening of Excellence Celebration held Thursday at the Liberty Theater’s McTavish Room.

The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association’s ShoreStyle Wedding Faire received an Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Award for “Best Economic Vitality Activity.” This award is granted to the Main Street organization that has created and implemented the best downtown retention or business recruitment activity.

The association’s Volunteer Appreciation Night also received an Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Award for “Best Volunteer Development,” an award that honors the Main Street organization that has developed the most thorough effort to recruit, train, motivate or recognize volunteers.

And Fort George Brewery and Public House tied with a Baker City business for “Business of the Year.” This award goes to the business that demonstrates a commitment to the community, exhibits exemplary customer service, strengthens the business mix and supports its employees.
