An Astoria woman was arrested Wednesday after a short police chase.

An officer attempted to stop the woman, who was driving north on Seventh Street without headlights on just after 8 p.m. She then allegedly accelerated away from the scene.

She continued before turning onto Eighth Street, Jerome Avenue and Fifth Street before reaching a dead end. The woman allegedly struck a parked car during the chase, causing minor damage.

Tiffany Jane Richardson, 32, was arrested and charged with eluding, driving under the influence of intoxicants, hit-and-run and reckless driving.
