SEASIDE — Clatsop Community College holds a volunteer literacy tutor training from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at its South County Center, 1455 N. Roosevelt Drive in Seaside. The Volunteer Literacy Program works with hard-to-serve adult students who must overcome many barriers to improved literacy.

This workshop is open for anyone interested in the subject, for practicing tutors, and for those considering becoming a volunteer with the literacy program. An overview of adult learners enrolled in basic skills classes, tutoring strategies and study materials will be discussed.

Call 503-338-2557 or email epurcell@clatsopcc.edu to sign up.
