Less than two weeks after registration opened, the Great Columbia Crossing has sold out.

Organizers with the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce said this is the fastest the 10K event has ever sold out.

Capacity was reduced to 2,000 from its usual count of 3,500 runners and walkers. Organizers say the modification will allow them to ensure they’re following health and safety guidelines, but may potentially reopen registration for additional participants if health guidance allows.

The scenic route draws participants from all over the country. The 40th annual event is scheduled to take place Oct. 10.

In-person participants may be required to wear masks in crowded or confined areas, including the shuttle busses and packet pickup areas. There is an option to complete the race virtually at a reduced registration cost.
