Lower Columbia Human Resources Management Association will hold a half-day workshop, “Protecting Employers and Human Resources Managers: Assessing Risks and Liabilities in the Workplace to Minimize and Avoid Liability,” presented by Lisa Brown of Bullard Law, from 8 a.m. to noon June 21 in Room 219, Columbia Hall, Clatsop Community College.

Registration and breakfast start at 8 a.m., and the training is from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Register to attend by June 18 at www.lchrma.org

Participants will learn strategies, techniques and skills to protect the employer and human resources managers in the event of future litigation. Brown will also review best practices for documenting and conducting disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, and employee terminations.

Anyone with an interest in the topic is welcome to attend. The cost, including breakfast, is $40 for Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) members, or $50 for nonmembers.
