KEIZER — Knappa rolled to back-to-back state baseball championships on Friday night, ending a perfect season with a 7-1 victory over Pilot Rock.

The Loggers have won three of the past four state 2A/1A titles — and were second in 2016.

Pilot Rock, of Eastern Oregon, opened the scoring in the first inning at Volcanoes Stadium. But Knappa responded with three runs. The Loggers added runs in the second and fourth innings before sealing the title with two runs in the sixth.

Eli Takalo pitched five innings for the Loggers before his brother, Dale Takalo, shut down the Rockets in the sixth and seventh. Kaleb Miller homered to left field in the second inning.

Knappa ended the season 24-0. The Loggers also went undefeated — 27-0 — in 2015.
