• At 4:36 p.m. Wednesday, Oregon State Police cited Carollee Candi Clausen, 64, Astoria, for allegedly driving under the influence of intoxicants after police found her vehicle parked in the John Day area with her passed out in the driver’s seat. Clausen was heavily impaired on prescription medications, OSP said.

She was arrested and transported to Clatsop County Jail, where she consented to give urine and blood samples. She was then transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital for evaluation.


• At 12:03 a.m. Thursday, Oregon State Police responded to crash on Highway 101 milepost 14, where a Freightliner chip truck collided with an elk. The southbound truck sustained a broken fender on the rear driver axles. The driver was not injured.
