Astoria Police responded to the Columbia Memorial Hospital emergency room Saturday to a report of a patient who appeared to have been stabbed.

Christopher Peterson, 27, of Warrenton, was treated for a laceration to his neck, consistent with being stabbed with a jagged object, police said.

Peterson did not share how or where the injury occurred. He did say he was at an Astoria bar, but did not recall what happened between there and his mother’s house, where he arrived several hours later. There were several indications that Peterson had been involved in an altercation, police said.

Police are seeking anyone who witnessed an altercation or has any information about what occurred.

Peterson is white, about 6’5”, 227 pounds, with blue eyes and short light brown hair that is thinning on top. He had a couple of days growth of facial hair and has visible tattoos on his left forearm.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Officer Andrew Randall at 503-325-4411 or arandall@astoria.or.us.
