The Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Lower Columbia Tourism Committee will have a few openings on the board starting in July. The committee membership is set up to represent a diverse cross-section of the tourism industry in the North Coast region. Each term is three years, and members can serve no more than two consecutive terms. The committee meets at 8 a.m. the second Thursday of every month.

Its purpose is to promote and advertise Astoria and Warrenton as a tourist area, assist other community organizations in activities which could potentially draw tourists to the area, coordinate advertising with other organizations and assist in creating an image for the tourist area.

The chamber seeks one member from a restaurant, two from lodging and one merchant. All interested candidates will be placed on the ballot to be voted on at the chamber’s June meeting.
