The public is invited to an American Association of University Women program with Juanita B. Price, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II who will describe her recent Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., along with a slideshow prepared by her traveling companion, Janet Bowler. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Flag Room at the Astoria Public Library, 450 10th St.

In observance of 70 years since the end of the war, a party of 50 World War II veterans traveled free of charge courtesy of the nonprofit Honor Flight of Portland Oregon, a member of the Honor Flight Network, whose mission is to transport veterans to visit the World War II memorials in Washington D.C. as well as other monuments, in gratitude for their service. Price served in the Post Photographic Laboratory on the Marine base at Quantico, Virginia, from 1944 to 1946.
