The Astoria Regatta Association has announced winners for the sailboat races held Saturday and Sunday at the 108th Regatta festival in Astoria.

First place for the two-day event was a tie between the Mach One and the Wild Hare, the former sailed by Norm Shatto and the latter by Malcolm Boyle. The sailboat J.J. Flasher, captained by John Keyser, captured a third-place finish in the contest.

Races began Saturday at the West Mooring Basin. Nine captains sailed their boats from the harbor to Buoy 22 downriver, made their way back to the East Mooring Basin then returned to port for a 16.9-mile race. Sunday's race drew eight participants, and the two-lap course totaled 11.8 miles.

Englund Marine supplied gift certificates of $100, $75 and $50 to the three winners.
