Susan Jones and her husband operated the market on their own during July and August of 2004 before taking over as owners Sept. 16th. Stop by Longfin, say hello to the Joneses and pick up some fresh seafood.
Longfin is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. It is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

What do you want people to know about your business?
"We try hard to have fresh products and I'll do my best to fill special orders. We want our customers to be satisfied. Also, we will stay open as long as customers are coming through the door."
What is your busiest time of year?
"It starts at spring break and summer gets a little crazy."
Has anything about your business surprised you?
"No, not really."
What can you tell me about the volume your business does?
"We got 14,318 pounds of tuna from one boat last year. Five totes yielded 1,500 pounds of tuna."
How far does your customer base extend?"People come from all over to buy our oysters. A couple from Portland comes once or twice a month in summer just for a half gallon of oysters. We've met people from all over the world."
What is your most popular item?
"During the summer it's crab and tuna. People buy fresh tuna for sushi. This past summer we also sold a lot of halibut and oysters."
Is the consumption of seafood on the rise?
"I think so. I didn't realize how popular oysters are."
What is your business philosophy?"We try to treat our customers the way we want to be treated when we go into a store."
Do you get any strange questions or requests?
"People call from all over asking questions about local weather, clam digging, etc."
How do you feel about people making suggestions about your business?
"If somebody has a suggestion we listen to it."
