ELSIE A man suffering burns was transported by
Lifeflight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital Sunday afternoon
after a recreational vehicle caught on fire.
The fire occurred at 3:36 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway
26 at Milepost 30.
Hans Mulder, assistant fire chief of the Elsie Fire
Department, did not have the mans name. His condition is also
unknown.
The fire apparently started in the RVs engine
compartment, Mulder said. The fire spread to some nearby trees and
burned at least an acre, Mulder said.
Assisting the Elsie Fire Department were the Seaside
and Hamlet fire departments. Firefighters remained on the scene for
at least two hours, Mulder said.
