The Columbia River Maritime Museum offers summer day camps beginning Monday.
There will be three five-day sessions that cover the same topics: Monday through June 21, July 15 through 19 and July 29 through Aug. 2.
Each five-day session involves maritime arts and crafts, hands-on activities, games and outdoor activities. Each day focuses on different topics, which include pirates, signal codes, shipwrecks, water safety and estuaries.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and is for children in third through fifth grades. Children should bring a sack lunch and a beverage as there is no food available at the museum.
The camp costs $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Register at the Columbia River Maritime Museum, 1792 Marine Drive. The camp is funded through a grant from U.S. Bank.
