"Dignity and Autonomy: Choices in Reproductive Rights and Gender Equity in Marriage" is the title of a community forum to be held 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Flag Room of the Astoria Public Library at 10th and Exchange streets.

Presenters will examine proposed federal legislation about marriage and Oregon's ballot Measure 36 that would outlaw same-sex marriage. The forum will focus the federal and local erosion of reproductive rights legislation since the 1971 Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision.

Featured speakers are Roey Thorpe, executive director of Basic Rights Oregon, Tess Fields, field manager of Planned Parenthood of Columbia Willamette, and former Oregon Democratic state Rep. Jackie Taylor. A panel of local speakers will respond to questions. Panelists include Megan Casebourn, civil rights; Donna Wright, Oregonians for Choice in Clatsop County; Margaret Frimoth, same-sex marriage; Pat Burness, Women's Resource Center; and Jim Scheller, Pride Network.

The forum is co-sponsored by NARAL Oregonians for Choice of Clatsop County, Pride Network, and Democrats of Clatsop County. For further information, contact 325-7332 or 325-0415.
