Jane Gildner, 61, died March 22, in Portland. She was born July 28, 1948, in Glasgow, Scotland.

She married Claus Gildner on July 18, 1970, in London, England. The couple immigrated to Astoria from London on April 20, 1973.

She had been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Astoria since moving there.

Throughout the years she held many roles. She was a stay at home mother, bookkeeper, tax preparer, and accountant. She also was a Small Business Counselor, through which she taught a few classes at Clatsop Community College. Jane was a woman who wore many hats, as well as being deeply involved in her community.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Semma Simone Hyland, and father, William Edward Hyland.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Claus Gildner; sister Anne Hyland of Astoria; her loving children, Carla Jane Lockwood of Albany, Spencer Claus Gildner of Warrenton, and Rienna Simone Gildner of Astoria; her grandchildren Dustin Gildner/Hardestey of Bellingham Wash., Timothy Gildner of Astoria, Jordyn and Logan Lockwood of Albany, and Kaitlyn Gildner of Warrenton, who will miss her dearly and always keep her close to their hearts and remember her. She was loved and will be remembered by her son-in-law, David Lockwood of Albany, and daughter-in-law, Jenny Gildner of Warrenton, as well as many family relatives in Israel.

She will be missed by many and remembered for her devotion to her religion, her unending perseverance and passion for knowledge, and dedication to all her endeavors.

A service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be buried at Ocean View Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Ocean View Cremation and Burial Service.
