ILWACO, Wash. - Leif Walker of Ocean Park, Wash., will lead the Masons on the Long Beach Peninsula next year.

Walker will be installed as master of Occident Lodge No. 99, Free and Accepted Masons of Washington, at an open installation ceremony 2 p.m. Saturday, at the lodge in Ilwaco.

Walker was previously master in 2004.

Other new officers for 2009 are Senior Warden, Michael Carmel, Junior Warden Dick Rodlun, Senior Deacon Jesse Strope, Junior Deacon Earl Soule, Marshal Tom Singer and Senior Steward Ed Cox.

Continuing in office are Secretary Jim Tongue, Treasurer Noel Emond and Chaplain Norm Grier.

Outgoing Master Jack Green will become tyler, and he will also serve as master of ceremonies for the installation. Installing master will be Art Herring and installing secretary will be Les Moore.

Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

The Masonic lodge meets in Ilwaco on the first Thursday of each month, except in July and August. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. All Masons, including those visiting the coast, are welcome to attend.
